Why You Need The BNF App
Student Nurse, Alexandria, offers her views on the BNF app and why it can be such an essential tool for Student Nurses looking to increase their knowledge base.
Hi guys, it's Alexandria Grace, one of the student creators for nurses.co.uk.
Today I have a recommendation for my fellow Student Nurses.
Particularly first years and prospective Student Nurses.
I recommend that you all download the BNF app.
I will insert a picture of it here so you know what to download.
The BNF stands for the British National Formulary, which is basically the dictionary of medication.
In the app, it is separated into the adult version, which is just the BNF, and then the BNFC, which is the children's version.
This the one that I use, as I am a Children's Nursing Student.
It has all the indications for using different medications, all the dosages depending on the weight or the age of the child, or the adult, depending on which one you're using.
It is so useful when you're doing medical calculations, or just for general revision, or pharmacology revision.
So I definitely recommend that people download it.
