Introduction
To simplify this step-by-step guide to creating your nursing CV, I’ve divided it into two parts.
The first part is about what needs to be in a nursing, care and clinical CV.
The second part is about formatting your CV.
I've put a lot of work into making sure our community have the opportunity to create brilliant clinical, care and nursing CVs:
• I've had a journalist survey experts
• Our developers have created an amazing CV builder for you (it's free)
• I've created this article (which I believe to be the most comprehensive guide for creating a nursing CV that you'll find)
So, read on. I hope you find this useful. I'd like to thank my colleague and Nurses.co.uk Clinical Career Manager, Nikki Goodhew. (Nikki is a Registered Nurse of 35 years - so if anyone knows what makes a successful nursing CV, it's Nikki!)
Part 1: CV writing tips: What you need to have in your CV
I’ve learned that generic advice on creating a CV isn’t enough for nurses in the UK.
From Pin numbers to information about DBS there's specific things that need to be in a nursing CV that aren't covered in any other CV writing guide I've come across.
I discovered in a survey we ran a couple of years ago that many nurses were confused about what to put in their CV, and didn’t know how it should be laid out.
This is because many nurses have worked in the NHS all their life and not needed a professional looking CV.
So, I contacted dozens of top nursing recruiters to get their advice on what really matters to them when it comes hiring nurses and care professionals and clinicians in the UK.
I’ve incorporated that advice into my own thoughts about CV writing, combined it with Nikki's nursing perspective and condensed it down into these essential CV writing tips.

I am indeed so pleased with the great Team that has compiled all those useful information which has become a Knowledge base.Nursing is a noble job that demands what it stand for,and one can not pretend to be a nurse for that will not be practical. The main professional satisfaction of a nurse is to ensure that her/his patient is happy, pleased and comfortable whatever condition the patient may be having."They say service to mankind is the Primary duty of a Nurse". If one doesn't have the passion and the heart to deliver Nursing services, then its hard to pretend and fulfill meaningful services.I I thank all those nurses who have taken their valuable time to develop this knowledge base for their fellow nurses in the world. Kind regards
