Are you a Registered Nurse with Practice Nurse experience looking to specialise in
Chronic Respiratory Disease management?
Territory: East Midlands x 2 vacancies (Birmingham, Leicestershire)
Hours - Full time Monday to Friday
Our client has a nationwide team of specialist Nurse Advisors with in depth understanding of national COPD and Asthma treatment guidelines who work closely with CCGs and GP Practices to help improve respiratory care in the community. Their Nurses share a passion for respiratory disease, and can make a real difference to the patient. The Nurses become highly qualified disease management experts within asthma & COPD, sharing their knowledge, confidence and experience with patients, PNs, GPs and CCGs
Field based you will work throughout the area running respiratory review projects at GP Practices that have requested support. You will meet with key clinical stakeholders at the Practice to agree the audit, screening and patient review processes. You will schedule a series of diary dates to ensure you can meet all review objectives including checking the audit, identifying patients to be included, running patient therapy review clinics including spirometry assessment and result interpretation, inhaler technique training and lifestyle counselling, maintaining all documentation, feeding back to the Practice and providing Practice Nurse training and support as required. Follow up visits are also provided to help maintain improved results.
You will be part of a nationwide team of Nurses helping improve respiratory disease management throughout primary care. Committed to personal development you will be able to complete Respiratory Diplomas and gain further education in COPD & Asthma management.
Our client has been providing Specialist Nurse Advisors for over 12 years across 11,000 GP Practices in the UK.
To be considered for this exciting role you will be a Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) that meets the following criteria;
• Level 1 UK Registered Nurse (Adult)
• Previous or current experience as a Practice Nurse
• Some experience managing Asthma and COPD patients in a primary care setting
• Asthma and/or COPD Diploma is an advantage but you will be offered the opportunity to take these at our client’s expense if successful.
• Confident communicator with teaching and/or training experience
• Current UK Full Driving Licence and willing to travel daily as part of the role.
However, if this is not the role for you, please take some time to consider whether you know anyone else who may be interested. If you recommend a new candidate who we then go on to find a job for, we will send you £250 as a thank-you. (Terms and Conditions apply)
