We have a huge range of clinical specialities on our surgical wards, so a vast amount of experience and skills can be gained. There are opportunities for progression in banding and we actively encourage professional development and support courses that are relevant to the clinical area and can benefit patients.
The successful candidate will have the exciting opportunity to become an experienced Surgical Nurse, gaining skills in; stoma care, specialist wound dressings, acute care skills, patient controlled analgesia and epidural, venepuncture and cannulation, and palliative care to name a few. We also offer an opportunity to apply for the 18 month surgical rotation program following successful completion of Preceptorship program.
Ward Nurses for the service play an exciting role supporting junior members of the team, combining clinical expertise, autonomy and communication skills. The successful candidates will ensure the delivery of high standards of patient centred care within an acute surgical ward. This role will be supported by Junior sisters, Ward Manager, Practice Development Nurse and Clinical Nurse Specialists.
