Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust
(AWP) provides inpatient and community-based mental health care for people living in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Swindon and Wiltshire. We also provide specialist services extending throughout the south west.
We employ over 4,000 dedicated members of staff who deliver services from more than 90 locations, working in approximately 150 teams across a geographical region of 2,200 miles, for a population of approximately 1.8million people.
We are passionate about promoting good mental health and wellbeing. We strive to use the expertise and resources within our organisation, and through our partnerships, to deliver high quality services that are safe and focused on people's recovery. Our staff are pivotal in everything we do and we are committed to involving them fully in the development of the Trust and our services.
A opportunity has arisen for a band 5 staff nurse to join our highly motivated and dedicated team here at STEP's Inpatient Unit for a 9 months on a fixed term contract. We have a 10 bedded ward that treats people with eating disorders such as Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa. The service users follow a therapeutic group programme that is facilitated by members of the multi-disciplinary team and ward staff.
You should be enthusiastic and motivated to work with eating disorders. You should be able to demonstrate effective shift coordination and organisational skills in a clinical area, providing support, clear clinical leadership to Health care assistants working on the ward. You will need to demonstrate effectiveness in ensuring the continuity of care for service users and full implementation of Trust policies.
You will have an opportunity to take responsibility for specific duties within the ward, such as key-working and group facilitation, as well as maintaining expected service delivery standards.
Support will be through the brilliant supervision structures we have in place. Through this support there is the opportunity to develop specialist knowledge in eating disorders, and in your role as a Specialist Eating Disorders nurse.
