We are looking for dynamic, enthusiastic midwives to join our Band 7 team within the Lotus Birth Centre/ Alongside Midwifery Unit at the Royal London Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust.
At Barts Health NHS Trust our local community is home to families from a diverse mix of ethnicity, social challenge and health needs, The Royal London Hospital is situated in the heart of East London and we have easy access to very good public transport links. We provide Maternity Services to approximately 5400 women a year and accommodate our women in very modern up to date facilitates. We have a level 3 Neonatal unit situated within the hospital as well as excellent facilities in Fetal Medicine
Barts Health NHS Trust has a world-wide reputation for innovation in the care of mothers to be, and each birth is very special to us and we strive to make every birth as normal as possible. Building on our existing work around normalising birth we are expanding our services at the Royal London hospital site to include an alongside midwifery-led unit providing choice for women and improving their birthing experience.
We are looking to recruit exceptional individuals passionate about normality and providing excellent care as coordinators to lead the new alongside midwifery-led unit at the Royal London hospital and provide clinical midwifery leadership and advice for staff and women with low risk pregnancies.
You will need to have:
- a minimum years post registration experience, with recent intrapartum experience on delivery suite
- Be educated to degree level or currently undertaking a degree programme
- Have undertaken the mentorship programme
- Have a passion for optimising women’s opportunity for normal birth including promoting births out of the obstetric unit for low risk women
- Have sound clinical knowledge with the organisational and leadership skills necessary to manage change.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Skills in water birth/active birth and all obstetric emergencies
