Kent and Medway's Older Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Wards provide excellent environments for the delivery of numerous specialist assessments, treatments and interventions. The integration of psychological, occupational, nursing and medical staff working in tandem also cultivates an atmosphere of learning for the whole team. About the role and who we are looking for:
Are you an experienced RMN or RGN looking for their first leadership role or in a leadership role and want a new challenge?
There is an exciting permanent opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic RMN or RGN looking for a leadership role in Older People's inpatient care on the Orchards Ward. Orchard's ward is a 16 bedded acute assessment ward located at Priority House, Barming, which is just behind Maidstone District General Hospital.
You must have post-registration experience including working with older adults and have completed mentorship training to be able to mentor students.
You must also be able to support the needs of people who are diagnosed with dementia, their relatives and carers. This requires excellent communication and liaison skills.
You will also have excellent interpersonal skills to manage and supervise staff effectively. You will be working with a wide range of experienced and friendly professionals, all with an interest in dementia care and providing high quality of care and compassion. In return we offer regular clinical supervision and management supervision.
