Are you looking for a rewarding career with one of the largest employers in the South West?
We are looking to recruit experienced Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP) who can practice, without direct supervision, as an independent healthcare practitioner to assess, diagnose, treat /refer and discharge patients who attend the Emergency Department (ED) with minor illness and undifferentiated minor injury.
To be successful in this role you will be an enthusiastic, motivated ENP who possess excellent communication, listening, organisational and time management skills.
You will be joining an experienced team delivering a full range of minor injury and urgent care services. We eagerly welcome applicants with 'special interests' in such areas as paediatrics and primary care as well as Emergency care.
Our current ENP team are registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council as non-medical prescribers; although desirable it is not essential for the successful applicant to have this qualification as successful applicants will be supported to undertake this course. Please see the job description and specification for more details on the role.
The trust is also looking to develop the Advanced Clinical Practitioner role in the ED in conjunction with close working relationships with the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Foundation Trust, which will provide our team with exciting opportunities to develop their own career and the future of the ED at Weston General Hospital.
We operate a rotational shift pattern, consisting of 12 hour shifts. Currently Weston General Hospital Emergency Department closes between the hours of 22:00-08:00, however, patients remain in the department after these hours and you will be expected to work until 00:00. The trust is committed to provide a fully operational 24 hour service so there could be scope to work a 24 hour rotational shift pattern in the future.
Our Emergency Department team sees approximately 55,000 patients per annum, and our ENP team see nearly one third of this group so needless to say it can be a challenging but rewarding department to work in. You will be well supported by the current ENP team and ED consultants and we pride ourselves on having a great team spirit and friendly working conditions.
At Weston Area Health Trust we are proud of the excellent service the staff provide to our patients. As an employer, we recognise that our staff are our greatest asset and we are committed to supporting them to achieve a rewarding and satisfying career.
