children and young people living in East London, which means we're the largest provider of children’s services in London.
- In 2015/16, there were over Apply children and young people attendances in our hospitals
- Last year, our paediatric emergency services treated over 9,500 children - providing care for conditions ranging from minor injuries to life-threatening illnesses.
Our dedicated clinical staff offer the highest standards of paediatric care. Across our hospitals, we have over 220 beds and premature baby cots. We also have three children’s emergency departments.
The Royal London Children’s Hospital is a leading, internationally renowned teaching hospital based in east London. We offer a full range of local and specialist services, which includes one of the largest children's hospitals in the UK with one of London's busiest paediatric Accident and Emergency departments. We provide acute services on the 6th, 7th & 8th floor of the Royal London Hospital, and Specialist community services for Tower Hamlets at Mile End Hospital.
We are one of the capital's leading major trauma centres, and benefit from London’s Air Ambulance, which is based at The Royal London Hospital, and provides pre-hospital trauma care at the scene of serious incidents within the M25.
We have the Neonatal Transport Service that stabilises and transfers premature babies across London and the South East of England.
Our Paediatric Critical Care Unit (PCCU) provides Level 3 ICU and High dependency care and treats some of the most seriously ill children who come to us from across East London and beyond. We are also an on take service for the North Thames Children’s Acute Transport Service, CATS, and our nurses rotate to CATS nursing shifts.
This is an exciting time to join Barts Health. On the 1st October we became our own Children’s and Young Person division, so are a new team. We are seeking an experienced motivated Children’s Nurse to join the senior CYP team who can help lead through changes to help us deliver our ambitious goals.
