We are looking for an experienced and innovative nurse; someone who thrives on a challenge to provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting. You will be playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. You will work as part of a team of primary care nurses within HMP Oakwood delivering care to patients both within the healthcare centre and on the Wings/House blocks as well as co-ordination and management of staff within the healthcare function. Previous experience in managing teams, teaching and clinical supervision is highly desirable.
Opened in 2012 HMP Oakwood is a large prison holding 2106 category C adult males. Healthcare services are run from a modern purpose built Primary Care Centre and healthcare hubs on multi-level house blocks.
A little bit about you...
With the ability to think on your feet and a flexible attitude, you will be a qualified nurse with current NMC registration. Capable of demonstrating initiative, you’ll have proven experience of post-registration experience in any of the following clinical areas: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments or Minor Injuries / Illness unit.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week over a 7 day period. The salary for this role is £29,000 - £33,000 per annum dependent upon experience. Hours will be long days working across a 7 day working week including Bank Holidays.
