PRACTICE PROFILE – PRACTICE NURSE OPPORTUNITIESWe are looking for an experienced nurse to work full time (37.5 hours) with occasional weekends. We would consider job share candidiates. Please see the attached job description.
Downend Health Group has recently formed due to the merger of two well established practices located in the suburbs of Bristol. The surgery operates from two purpose built premises located less than a mile apart. The buildings are owned by the GP partners and are well placed for easy access to Bristol, Bath and the M4/M5. We are a large practice looking after 25000 patients. Routine care is provided by the GPs, practice pharmacist and nursing team. Our urgent care team includes paramedics and nurse practitioners. We are therefore able to provide a responsive service to our patient group.
This excellent facility offers patients a family friendly service with efficient and easy access to a highly trained team of health care professionals. The medical team comprises GPs, a clinical pharmacist, paramedics and nurses. Our patient advisors and administration team provide excellent support both front of house and behind the scenes.
The surgery provides modern healthcare services and both buildings offers calm, welcoming environment for patients, with enhanced and pleasant working conditions for clinicians and staff. Both buildings have on-site pharmacies, The GPs are enthusiastic about the capacity their premises provides as they can offer services to the wider community which include additional services such as acupuncture and counselling services, not all of which is NHS.
Currently, we provide extended hours surgeries until 7.30pm Monday to Thursday. We also provide improved access appointments on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We use EMIS Web and electronic prescribing. We also are updating our Docman scanning software to allow efficient scanning and letter management across both sites.
For qualified nurses the annual leave entitlement is 6 weeks per annum plus bank holidays (pro-rata). There is a pay spine that is based on the skills and experience the nurse has with the chance for enhancements as this increases.
It is our aim to provide effective and high quality care for our patients whilst taking account of the personal and professional development and support of individual practice team members.
We welcome informal visits to the practice to be shown around prior to application or interview. Please contact Shelly Pearcy on Apply
