Theatre Scrub Nurse - Specialist Eye Hospital

Wolverhampton, West Midlands  

28,560 - £34,680 per annum

Full Time Contract / DAYS ONLY               



Compass Associates are proud to be working in partnership with a specialist eye hospital located in Wolverhampton in their pursuit of an experienced Theatre Nurse to join their established team where you will be working closely with Consultants. The hospital opened in December in 2019 and boasts state-of-the-art equipment in a first-class facility and is equipped with all the latest technology.              


The client has several hospitals throughout the UK and is one of the leading providers of NHS eye patient services and became the largest NHS cataract surgery provider in the UK. Alongside cataract surgery, the company also offers other ophthalmology services including treatments for Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), YAG Laser Capsulotomy and Vitrectomy.

The Candidate                      

My client is looking for an experienced and dedicated ODP/Nurse who has a keen interest in ophthalmology. You must have experience in scrub however, experience in ophthalmics isn't required as full training will be provided.  You will be assisting with the following surgeries: Cataracts, Glaucoma, Refractive Surgery, Retinal Surgery, and Oculoplastic Surgery.                                  

This is a fantastic opportunity to participate in all aspects of the Ophthalmic Pathway and gives you the ability expand and develop your own skills. Shift patterns are from 07:30 - 17:30 and you will be working 4 days per week. You will only be working 1 in 4 Saturdays and for the first 6 months the hospital is only operating from Monday - Friday!              


Essential Requirements                          

- Registered Practitioner with NMC/HCPC registration                          

- Scrub experience in theatres  

- Good interpersonal and communication skills

- Passion for high quality patient safety and care
