Job Description

Nurse Manager - Learning Disability Nurse (RGN/RMN)

Grade: Band 7

Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum

Location: Bromley

Permanent, Full time - 37.5 hours per week (Monday - Friday 8 - 4:30pm)

Pulse is excited to work in partnership with one of the UK's leading healthcare providers to recruit a Nurse Manager - Learning Disability Nurse (RGN/RMN) to join their team.

The unit provides a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) including physical, communication and sensory disabilities, medical conditions or autism, in addition to learning disabilities, from severe to profound.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Manage the health and medical needs of the students.
  • Enable students to access education.
  • Enable students to have suitable support during residence at college.
  • Enable students to make effective use of opportunities for learning and leisure across the extended curriculum.
  • Ensure effective communications both internally and externally.
  • Be a member of the Nash Safeguarding Team Training/Experience.
  • Work with the Regional Manager and Head Teacher to ensure the service complies with Livability Policy & Procedure and CQC.

Skills and experience:

  • Current Nursing Registration as a First level registered nurse - adult, learning disability or mental health (Essential).
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (Essential).
  • An understanding of safeguarding and a commitment to creating safe environment (Essential).
  • Knowledge of the Care Quality Commission standards (Essential).
  • Knowledge of physical and learning disability and medical issues including, epilepsy, respiratory disorders, gastrostomy care and autism (Essential)
  • CQC level 5 management qualification (Desirable).
