Job Description

Staff Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD) – Up to £17.78 per hour

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD) for a well-led and patient focused nursing home, based in Bridgend.

We are looking for outstanding nurses to provide care for adults with mental health issues, learning disabilities or neuro-degenrative conditions. This is not an elderly nursing home. Most patients are between the age of 18 and 50., Many patients have challenging behaviours, so experience in this field would be hugely beneficial. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled at de-escalating conflict situations and be dedicated to improving patient outcomes.

This role is suitable for newly qualified nurses as a preceptorship program is available. Senior nurses with considerable experience will attract the highest rate available.

Education, Skills and qualifications - Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD)

·Valid NMC Pin

·Prior experience in a similar setting would be desirable

·Excellent communication skills

·Great team working skills

·A calm, compassionate nature

Job Role: Registered Nurse (RMN/RGN/RNLD)

·Ensure that comprehensive, individualised care plans are in place and are regularly reviewed in accordance with the NMC guidelines and company policy

·Carry out risk assessments for patients

·Make sure that junior staff are trained and able to perform their day to day tasks

·Administer medication

·Liaise with patients’ friends and loved ones

·Provide person-centred care

·Advise on nursing care, infection control and best practice

·Communicate effectively with staff at all levels

·Handle challenging situations calmly

·Participate actively in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings

·Help patients to integrate back into society, where possible

·Be aware of models of restraint, de-escalation and supervision
