Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Ward Manager to join a mental health and learning disabilities service based in Kent.

This service provides specialist care and rehabilitation to both men and women broken down into smaller units geared towards supporting with rehabilitation and moving back into the community.

The service is part of a well-respected national group renowned for their mental health support services.

As Ward Manager you will be responsible for:

Leading and motivating teams

Providing support to patients and their family members

Ensuring high quality patient care

Auditing and compliance

Managing Budgets

Flexible approach to be able to support the service when needed, including the occasional night

Candidate Requirements:

Must be a Registered Nurse

Relevant experience within Mental Health settings

Management experience (qualification desirable)

Experienced with service improvement and compliance

Salary and Benefits:

Competitive salary of £38,000-43,000 negotiable depending on experience

The role involves:

Providing the day-to-day management of a team of staff.

Deputising for the line manager and other members of the senior team.

Working closely with the line manager to ensure the efficient and effective running of areas of responsibility.

Provide specialist advice and care within designated area responsibility.

Ensure that care needs are assessed and programs of care are developed, implemented, evaluated and documented for caseload of patients.

Responsibility for the care provided to patients whilst on duty.

Provide professional advice, guidance and support to team members.

Responsibility for minimising the risks of infection.

To be part of the senior nurse on-call rota.

To assist the line manager in the cascade of information and key messages to the nursing team in timely manner.
