Role: Lead Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner
Location: Beckenham
Salary: Up to £37,000
Working Pattern: Full Time - 37.5 hours weekly

We are looking for a Lead Orthopaedic Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre department at a leading Private hospital in the Beckenham area.
We need an enthusiastic individual who is committed to Leadership of the team in this two theatre set up. One with Laminar Flow, with three recovery bays. You will need two years Lead experience to successfully interview. A depth of knowledge in Orthopaedic surgery is essential.

The list involves surgeries in hip, knee, spine, shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, foot and ankle.

This role will be part-clinical and part-managerial within the department.
We are looking for an individual who is committed and experienced in driving quality and patient services. The successful applicant should have experience in staff management and development as well as service delivery.
This hospital is based in Beckenham and it is a role is full time position of 37.5 hours a week on a flexible rota.
  • Evidence of relevant professional development, both clinically, managerially, preferably evidenced by certification RN with valid NMC Registration.
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Post-registration qualification relevant to functional specialty i.e. Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant qualification
  • ENB 998 and/or mentorship course. Approved / recognised anaesthetic course. ILS. Mentorship qualification ILM3. ALS.
  • Experience and training in pain management, care of the deteriorating patient, care of patient under conscious sedation requiring monitored recovery.
  • Significant experience working in an acute hospital setting in a Senior Registered Nurse post or equivalent in an endoscopy service.
  • Ability to lead a nursing team, showing previous experience in leading a clinical team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and multitasking skills required.
  • Ability to motivate a team of clinical professionals.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • To strategically plan the orthopaedic service, responsible for day to day organisation and management of the Theatres.
  • Provide quality planned care for patients during their pre, peri & post procedure phases of care by ensuring all departmental members deliver quality patient care, being achieved within the available resources and agreed departmental budget.
  • The role is responsible for development, motivation and performance of all theatre staff, ensuring the achievement of CQC and JAG Standards as required for theatre services. This role will provide expert knowledge, leadership and support the implementation and maintenance of Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation and continuous development of global rating scale (GRS).
