What you’ll do
Leading the care team during your shifts, you will make certain that we fully meet residents’ medical, physical and emotional requirements. Ensuring compliance with our clinical governance framework, you will mentor and motivate colleagues, champion residents’ safety and dignity and drive continuous improvement, whilst acting as Named Nurse for your own portfolio of service users.
Where you’ll work
The care home is built on the site of Great Heath Primary School in St John’s Close in Mildenhall. We’re close to the shops and amenities of the Suffolk town, and within easy distance of Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Ely. We’re very central for friends and family visiting from all over East Anglia and beyond.
We’re also lucky enough to be located just a few streets away from the edge of the beautiful Thetford Forest Park – making our location perfect for short trips out.
Who you are
An NMC Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD), you will be well versed in care planning processes and fully familiar with clinical assessment tools. You will be keen to develop your leadership skills and clinical knowledge, capable of building close relationships with residents and their families, and determined to drive continuous improvement.
Who we are

Our highly personal, patient-centred approach has seen us enjoy rapid growth, with three new homes planned for next year, so we can offer wide-ranging career opportunities to people who care as deeply as we do.
What we offer
As one of our valued nurses you can benefit from both clinical and management training, enabling you to become a clinical lead, senior trainer or home manager. You can also expect competitive salary plus benefits including bank holiday enhancements, paid DBS check, child care vouchers, free parking, cycle to work scheme, thousands of online and in-store discounts and free uniform.
- Where you'll work
- Mildenhall Lodge is an award-winning and CQC-rated ‘outstanding’ care home that delivers personalised residential, nursing and dementia care for older people
We were delighted to receive an ‘outstanding’ overall rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after our routine inspection in January 2018. We are also proud to have received recent national and regional awards.
Located close to the heart of the market town of Mildenhall in Suffolk, near to the A11 and local bus routes, Mildenhall Lodge is commutable from the neighbouring towns of Brandon, Bury St Edmunds, Newmarket and Thetford.
We also have our own pet dog – a lovely lurcher called Sinbad. Residents decided they’d like a home pet, so we made it happen. He’s become the star of Mildenhall Lodge!
At Mildenhall Lodge, we offer rewarding, fulfilling careers that are full of opportunity. We support all our team members with innovative training and clear career paths, and you can enjoy working in a friendly, supportive environment where our residents' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.
Care UK is committed to ensuring that it employs people with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and will assess every applicant fairly regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. Having a criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working with us, it will depend on the nature of the role and background of any offence.
