About Clontarf Hospital
Clontarf Hospital is a voluntary hospital providing inpatient post-acute rehabilitation care for older people and orthopaedic patients admitted mainly from the acute hospital system in the greater Dublin area. The Hospital has 160 beds and provides the highest number of post-acute rehabilitation beds in Community Health Organisation (CHO) 9. The hospital also provides an inpatient and non-urgent general x ray outpatient service to our local GPs.
Clontarf Hospital lies in the beautiful suburb of Clontarf on the north side of Dublin city. It is close to all amenities including the city centre, the sea, beaches, parks and benefits from being in walking distance of several bus routes and two dart stations.
There are five inpatient wards each managed by Clinical Nurse Managers and are staffed with Registered General Nurses, Health Care Assistants and a ward clerk. The nursing teams are supported by a Clinical Nurse Manager 2 Infection Control, a Clinical Nurse Facilitator, Clinical Nurse specialist in Tissue Viability and by an Assistant Director of Nursing. There is a full medical team and Allied Health Services providing goal-orientated patient centred rehabilitation treatment.
The successful candidate will:
- Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be entitled to be so registered
- Hold a post graduate qualification or be undertaking a graduate course at not less than level 8 (QQI) in a health care or management related area
- Provide evidence of ongoing continuous professional development
- Have a minimum of 10 years post registration experience consisting of no less than five years clinical experience and three years senior nursing management experience in the last five years
