Are you an experienced Paediatric Nurse or soon to qualify? Newly Qualified Nurses will be offered the opportunity to apply for a rotational post within Paediatrics. This will consist of 2 nine month placements.

Division E - Comprises of:

- Paediatric Oncology and Haematology

We have opportunities for newly qualified and experienced paediatric nurses in both our inpatient and day unit areas, looking after children aged 0-16 years with Haematological and Oncological conditions at this Regional Treatment Centre. The inpatient area, which has 17 beds also cares for children with general medical conditions.

-Paediatric Day Unit

Clinic area for Paediatric Oncology and Haematology patients throughout the Eastern region. 6 bedded recovery area following procedures and also day case Chemotherapy. Open Mon- Fri.

- General Surgery/ Ward D2

22 bedded general paediatric surgery ward specialising in orthopaedics, neurosurgery and plastics to name a few specialities, caring for children aged 0-16 years. As CUH is a regional trauma and neurosurgical centre complex treatments are cared for in this ward. CAMH admissions are also cared for on this ward.

- Paediatric Medical/Surgical Ward 0-3 years/ Ward C3

12 bedded ward caring for babies and children up to the age of 3. These children often have complex needs that require surgery and long term care with interventions such as optiflow.

-Short Stay/Day Care/Pre and Theatre Admissions Unit/ Ward F3

Comprises of a 6 bedded inpatient area open 6 days a week. All types of theatre admissions cared for on day of surgery. Also ward attenders and children requiring regular infusions as part of their care.

- Charles Wolfson Ward

12 bedded unit for babies up to one year that require paediatric care and are also stepped down from NICU prior to discharge home.

- Paediatric Outpatients

Clinic 6 caters for all Paediatric Outpatients within 3 designated areas. The department is open Monday to Friday.

- Paediatric Intensive Care Unit

13 bedded Regional Centre for Intensive and High Dependency Care of children aged 0-16 years. AS CUH is a regional trauma and neurosurgical centre, they take admissions from the Eastern region.

We admit and care for CAMH patients within our general children's service, and have a full time Consultant Paediatric Liaison Psychiatrist. We work closely with the CPFT and community CAMHs service. We would welcome applications from CAMHS and/or MH (with paed experience) nurses who are interested in joining our team and working towards this service development.

All areas are supported by Clinical Practice Facilitators and Practice Development Nurses to aid your development with all skills required.
