The maternity unit at Whipps Cross University Hospital is looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Midwives to join our friendly and dynamic team to deliver high quality, evidenced based care to child bearing women and their families. You will be providing comprehensive midwifery care within the model of care practised in the maternity services. You will provide the highest standard of individualised and holistic patient care, in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team. We are looking for individuals who above all, are driven to provide compassionate care to all our service users.

The maternity services also include specialist provision, for example for women with diabetes and those affected by female genital mutilation (FGM). We have been recognised for nationally for work supporting FGM patients and we continue our work in helping women who have suffered Female Genital Mutilation.

The Care Quality Commission rated our maternity service as Good and patients and their relatives spoke highly of the care they received in both the maternity and gynaecology services. Our staff plan and deliver care to patients in line with current evidence-based guidance, standards and best practice. In this role you will be expected to demonstrate passion for promoting normality, offer women continuity of care / carer to support women in every part of their pregnancy journey as recommended in the Better Births report (2016).

The Care Quality Commission has also recognised the significant improvementsmade at Whipps Cross in their latest visit and the 2018 Staff Survey results showed staff have seen many improvements in their working lives.
