Job Description

Applications are invited from an experienced Mental Health Nurse to lead the Assessment Ward team within the Older Adult Mental Health service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey , in the Channel Islands.

The Unit is a 8-bedded ward, dedicated to assessment of patients over 75 presenting with a full range of mental health conditions.

The Older Adult Mental Health Service has four in-patient centres; from the initial assessment ward through to the later stages of an individual's experience of dementia, as well as Community Day Services.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.

The current Guernsey Band 6 salary is up to £55,315 plus an annual bonus of £1,286 and higher penalty rates; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.

Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS service for annual leave and sick leave.

All of this is reliant on the excellent calibre of Nurse Managers recruited to a very high standard.

Person requirements:

Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration.

Current or recent experience at senior Band 6 or Band 7 level in a relevant Older Adult Assessment setting.

Experience in leading, motivating and developing a team.

Passionate about leading a service that is robust while being innovative and open to considering new ways of working.
