Ward A604 at UHBristol is a busy 22 bed Acute Orthopaedic Elderly Trauma ward; the Silver Trauma ward. The ward strives to promote a safe, calm and relaxed environment for patients and their relatives.

We are committed to a Multi-disciplinary Team approach, working together to ensure that patients are able to maximise their potential & reducing length of stay.

Our nurses are empowered to deliver high quality, safe and expert care based on an excellent teaching-based ward ethos that recognises staff potential and nurtures needs of its staff through a supportive network provided by the Practice Education Facilitators (PEF).

WHAT WE CAN OFFER:
  • A PEF is available to support and enhance your needs, working alongside you to offer guidance and reassurance promoting individual learning in order to achieve a range of competencies.
  • Twice weekly ward based teaching sessions delivered to improve nurses' knowledge and skills to ensure that they feel confident and competent to deliver expert safe patient quality care.
  • Opportunity to attend the 2 day Ward Survival Guide study day to guide you through your first months post qualifying
  • Further learning opportunities can be provided through the Trauma & Orthopedic Study day where you will be supported in achieving T&O specific competencies.
