Acute Medical Unit and Emergency Medical Unit, Band 5 Staff Nurse

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 5 staff nurse with a special interest in Acute Medical Nursing.

We have a 34 bedded Acute Medical Unit, A300 and 9 trolley with waiting room and triage area on our Emergency Assessment Unit, A413; that exists over 2 floors in our modern, exciting and vibrant inner city hospital.

Our remit is the assessment of Acute Medical patients from the Emergency Department and rapid assessment and care of acute G.P referrals to Acute Medicine. We develop treatment plans and aim to discharge patients home or move patients to our general medicine bed base as soon as possible.

The two units work closely together to deliver high standards of care and offers a range of shift patterns to suit many nurses.

The nursing team is friendly and welcoming and we are working to develop acute medical training to all the nurses within this specialty. We are developing a practice nurse development role within the unit to help with your development and give additional support on both units.
