Job Description

The Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre (BHOC) is being further expanded as a dedicated elective orthopaedic centre providing planned orthopaedic surgery for the people of East London and beyond as part of the Barts Health NHS Trust.

Based for the purpose, Gateway Surgical Centre at Newham University Hospital has a 27 bed capacity including a private wing. This is a great opportunity to start a career in orthopaedics, working with a high performing and committed team of nursing, surgeons and allied health professionals.

Elective surgery requires a real team approach from referral to discharge with team members who can work with compassion and efficiency in a fast moving enhanced recovery based environment.

You do not need previous experience in orthopaedics but do need to have enthusiasm and a willingness to learn quickly as our centre develops. Outstanding customer care skills are essential to support both the patient and their families and a determination to continuously improve and develop services. We need people with big ideas and the ability to help make them happen.
