Job Description

An exciting and innovative opportunity has arisen in Medway Community Mental Health Services for Older Adults (CMHSOP) in line with KMPT's Nursing Strategy.

We are looking for a full time Nurse Leader who has the ability to be flexible in a combined role of Non-Medical Nurse Prescriber (NMP) 0.6hrs (3days) & Lead Nurse 0.4hrs (2 days).

The successful candidate will be a registered NMP who is currently practicing and holding clinics independently under medical supervision and a passionate and dedicated role model for the nursing professional.

The role will support the locality manager and team leaders to deliver and maintain a high quality and safe service. A fair and just culture focusing on embedding learning to improve and develop services will underpin the leadership style.

As well as a registered NMP this role demands a clear focus on nursing professional clinical leadership and nursing competencies/development.

Nursing specific roles include: reflective nursing supervision, medication, best practice, infection control, smoking cessation, flu, medical devices and physical health.

In order to be considered for the post you will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Registered Non-Medical Prescriber
  • Minimum of 3 years post registration experience in mental health
  • Teaching and assessing qualification
  • Ability to travel around the trust in a timely manner
  • An in depth knowledge and ability to role model Nursing standards, NMC Code of Conduct, KMPT Nursing Strategy & Safeguarding procedures
  • Sound and safe knowledge of nursing competencies.
  • Leadership skills including experience of supervising, appraising and developing nurses.
  • Care and compassion for Older Adults
