Job Description

We are looking for an experienced nurse to take on the role of Assistant Ward Manager at our Dementia Assessment Unit. This is a 22 bedded mixed sex ward with a Gold accreditation for a dementia enabling environment. It is part of the older peoples care pathway. The unit assesses patient needs and creates a treatment plan to enable patients to move on to the appropriate community setting to support care closer to home.

The post holder is responsible for co-ordinating and administering assessments of care needs, the development of treatment programmes and the implementation and evaluation of these programmes within a multidisciplinary team.

The post holder will also support the Team Manager in the management of staff, meeting quality standards, implementing policy, managing change and delivering innovation and delegate work to staff and be the responsible clinician that ensures care requirements are implemented satisfactorily.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated and energised person who will support rapid improvement work to support the DAU to becoming a center of excellence.
