Job Description

Are you a motivated and passionate nurse who is experienced in working in an innovative, fast-paced chemotherapy setting?

If so we'd love to hear from you. We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic nurse who is ready for a Senior Staff nurse role in our committed, positive and supportive team.

The Oncology department delivers a range of systemic anti-cancer treatments within our dynamic nurse led service. The main Oncology Day unit and Teenage and Young adult area are based within the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, and we also offer a community based service at two satellite centres.

Within these areas we care for and deliver treatment to patients with solid tumours and haematological disorders, through all stages of the cancer journey. We have an expanding service where staff can develop and flourish, while enjoying a positive work-life balance.

Our supportive team-working culture will empower you to build up professional relationships with your patients and their family as you follow closely their progress. Our patients appreciate dealing with a familiar, reassuring face, with an in-depth knowledge of their individual situation and needs. As a senior nurse you will need to have experience and skills in delivering care in this speciality. You will have the opportunity to develop your leadership and managerial skills, whilst also participating in service development.

As a day case service we open 8.00-18.00, Monday to Friday. The Oncology Day Unit is the largest part of the department, with 20 chairs and plans to expand to a further 6 in 2020. You would also be expected to work some of your shifts in the smaller Teenage and Young Adult unit, as well as the two community based satellite units.
