Job Description

It's an exciting time to join us: KMPT has been rated Outstanding for Caring and Good overall in our most recent CQC inspection in January 2019. The Early Intervention Services is a community service that provides assessments and NICE concordant interventions for people aged 14-65 years who present with suspected first episode of psychosis across Kent and Medway. There is an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 RGN to join this dynamic service and be part of our forward thinking, progressive service, that invests in staff through continuous development and career progression. Our service aims to work alongside individuals and their families by adopting strength and recovery based approach which maximises self-determination, and empowerment. There is a high level of individual and family work, as well as various group work activities including linking in with many partner organisations and professionals with an increasing emphasis on co production. The Access and Waiting Time standards ensure that people are offered NICE concordant Interventions early in their treatment and one of the priorities is physical health. The Band 6 RGN will support HCAs and care coordiantors across the service to ensure physical health is a priority and options for engaging people with physical assessments and interventions are developed. We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible nurse to join our established team of staff, ensuring our patients are offered holistic care and support, which encompasses their physical and mental health needs. You will need to - Have a strong desire to support us to develop this service in a rapidly changing climate - Have an interest in supporting the physical health of people - Be willing to work in a challenging environment - Be willing to engage in audit and evaluation - Be part of a team wishing to always improve the user experience of mental health services The post is a one year fixed term with a review to extend. Experience working in the community would be desirable. The base can be identified across the Trust as there will be cover across the service. This post is subject to a six month probationary period for candidates external to the Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust.
