Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced nurse to join a well established Community Mental Health Team in Hambleton and Richmond that has recently undergone a transformation of services. This is a permanent, full-time position.

The successful candidate will be joining a motivated and supportive team, committed to delivering a high quality patient centred service and to working towards improving quality and effectiveness.

As a core member of the team, you will demonstrate excellent assessment, interpersonal, and team working skills and be able to work collaboratively with a range of statutory and third sector agencies. Experience and genuine interest in older persons' mental health care, and working collaboratively with service users, their carer's and families is essential.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who wants to develop their leadership and clinical skills and has a proactive approach towards their personal and professional development. As a Band 6 Senior Nurse, you will be expected to demonstrate leadership to bring about improvement, to take on the day to day support of the team and offer supervision to other staff and students.

You will receive regular appraisal, clinical and management supervision and will benefit from the support of an experienced and committed multi-disciplinary leadership team, including the Team Manager and the Advanced Practitioner. There are regular opportunities for CPD, both across the Trust and locally in North Yorkshire.

Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary, adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.

The service operates 8am-8pm Monday to Sunday, therefore the successful applicant will be expected to work some evenings and weekends.

Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust is committed to the protection of staff, service users and visitors to the Trust from second hand smoke and currently operates a no smoking policy which ensures all buildings and grounds are smoke free.

We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from individuals who have experience of mental ill health or learning disabilities. Our service users and carers tell us our staff should be consistently concerned with maintaining and improving care with pride, empathy and compassion.
