Job Description

Based in Primary Care Liaison Triage Service in Callington Road Hospital, Bristol.

This is mostly a telephone liaison role, however some face to face assessment duties may be required. This post will provide the opportunity to work alongside various professional groups including GP's, social workers and the emergency services . The role does not expect clinicians to carry individual caseloads and reduced admin time can allow for increased engagement with service users.

You will work in a team of highly skilled mental health clinicians (including Social Workers and Senior Nurses), providing rapid and specialist telephone advice and assessment for people with mental health problems, who are referred through to the Triage Service.

You will consider a range of complex referrals and provide a decision on the best pathway early in the service user's journey. You will need to be a confident assessor who can establish rapport easily in order to overcome the limitations of telephone assessment.

You will be confident in assessing risk and agreeing plans with the service users.

You will have extensive knowledge and experience of working with mental health problems and possess advanced assessment and formulation skills. We would welcome applicants with relevant registration who are keen to develop their clinical skill base.

You would be offered continued training, and an opportunity to contribute to service development whilst working within a friendly and supportive team.
