Are you a Registered Nurse or Nurse Advisor with ITU/Critical Care/TTM experience?
South West UK including West Midlands Worcestershire, Gloucestershire, Avon, Somerset, South Wales, Devon & Cornwall, Oxon, Hants, Wilts, Dorset
Our client creates innovative products and services that enhance patients' lives. Specialists in the surgical and vascular fields, they offer a comprehensive range of Critical Care Devices. Our client continues to establish its market leading position through unique and innovative technique driven products and excellent clinical knowledge and support.
This is an opportunity for a Staff Nurse or Nurse Advisor to join a specialist Critical Care team providing audit, training and clinical support on an innovative range of temperature management products. Their Temperature Management System brings precision Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) to the highest level of performance available today. TTM (previously known as therapeutic hypothermia or protective hypothermia) is an active treatment that tries to achieve and maintain a specific body temperature in an effort to improve recovery outcomes after a period of stopped blood flow to the brain following brain injury, cardiac arrest or stroke among other conditions.
In this important role you will support Intensivist Anaesthetists, ITU Nurses, Neonatal Units and Intensive Cardiac Nurses who are evaluating the TTM system. You will train Staff Nurses on initiating treatment, using the touch screen equipment, monitoring temperature control, rewarming patients post cooling, accessing built in training manual and addressing clinician alert and safeguard warnings. Using demonstrations, telephone follow-up, leave piece literature, and regular visits to the ITU/Critical Care you will support the Unit Team as they complete the evaluations. If the system goes on to be purchased, you will train key “Product Champions” at the Hospital to be local trainers for using TTM. As Clinical Specialist you will also deliver initial training and ongoing updates on TTM to the Sales Team.
To be considered for this important role you will be an NMC Registered General Nurse (RGN/RN) and meet the following criteria;
• Previous experience in a Clinical Support/Nurse Advisor role in a medical device company
• Have clinical experience in ITU/Critical Care where TTM has been used for cooling
• An excellent communicator with Nurse training experience
• Comfortable working in close partnership with Hospitals across a large geography
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
However if this is not the role for you, please take some time to consider whether you know anyone else who may be interested. If you recommend a new candidate who we then go on to find a job for, we will send you £250 as a thank-you.
