Job Description

At UCLH (University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust) our success starts with you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest and most successful Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.

Based in the busy West End of London, we have a lively and vibrant working atmosphere, with quick and easy transport links to all our sites. Our size and resources enable us to offer a range of attractive benefits as well as unparalleled education and development opportunities for staff at all levels. This includes an extensive portfolio of academic and clinical courses and programmes ranging from ongoing personal development through to clinical excellence and leadership skills. UCLH prides itself on its investment in staff both in terms of developing career skills but also its commitment to staff health and wellbeing.

New State of the Art Unit - New Exciting Challenge

We’re changing lives, including yours.

Our neonatal services moved to a brand new state of the art unit situated immediately opposite Warren Street Tube station. We are situated in central London to enable you to access good transport links both nationally and internationally, which makes us perfectly positioned for when you are off duty too, as we’re located right in the heart of London’s West End.

As a Band 6 Senior Staff Nurse you should hold a neonatal qualification, we offer an excellent opportunity to consolidate your experience in our busy unit. You will be able to enhance your ITU skills and develop and progress to managing the special care / high dependency area. You should ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification and demonstrate the ability for and commitment to study, however there is an opportunity for this to be fulfilled once employed.

If you are dedicated to contributing to a team delivering excellence in neonatal care and serious about pursuing a rewarding career at UCLH, the neonatal unit is definitely the place for you. You will be joining an enthusiastic, friendly, motivated multidisciplinary team working within an internationally acclaimed centre of excellence for neonatal and maternity care.

We are a busy level three neonatal unit with close links with the other UCLH specialist hospitals and Great Ormond Street Hospital. Currently we care for 21 intensive / high dependency care babies including neurological cots for infant cooling.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement, have commissioned links with City and South Bank Universities and can offer an accelerated career pathway for suitable candidates. We have a team of passionate clinical practice educators who will support you within the unit to progress your career. There are extensive learning prospects with the opportunity to participate in research, be seconded to Great Ormond Street for surgical experience and to partake in extremely complex deliveries to name but a few.

This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the UK with an international reputation and a tradition of innovation.
