St John's Institute of Dermatology at Guy's & St Thomas's Hospital is one of the world's leading centres for patients with skin disease. It is the largest clinical dermatology department in the UK and provides a range of services for children and young people with skin disorders.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Deputy Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Paediatric Dermatology Team.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Children's or Adult Nurse with a passion for paediatric dermatology. The deputy CNS works as part of a multidisciplinary dermatology team providing holistic care to children with a broad spectrum of common and rare skin diseases including eczema, psoriasis, acne and vascular birth marks. Supported by the Clinical Nurse Specialist, this role will provide individualised care for children in a dedicated setting, undertaking specialist roles including assisting with skin biopsies, demonstrating and carrying out wet wrapping and education to support patients and families to care for their skin.
This role is ideal for an ambitious nurses looking to develop their skills of autonomy within a fascinating specialism. The successful candidate will be trained and supported by the Clinical Nurse Specialists to run nurse-led clinics. They will also be actively involved in facilitating the award-winning Eczema Education Programme. This innovative programme has been designed to educate and empower families of children with eczema, and also offers teenage-specific courses. It is unique to St.John's institute of dermatology.

Research is an integral part of the paediatric dermatology department and supporting the research team when needed is a part of this role.
This is a development role, so there will be opportunities to undertake further study with a focus on dermatology care.
