This role is based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital

Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist – Rheumatology Outpatient Department

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual contribute towards the provision of excellent patient care within the Outpatient Department at the new Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Over Apply patients a year attend this excellent facility.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring that the Trust provides high quality, patient focused care within the Rheumatology service; providing expert advice and support to patients, families and health care professionals using best evidence based practice.

The post-holder will be part of the Rheumatology Nursing Team, providing clinical and managerial support to other members of the team. In addition the post-holder will play a lead role in the development of nurse led Rheumatology services with the current team of CNS practitioners and the support of the Advanced Clinical Practitioner within the out-patient department and Trust Wide.

Working collaboratively with other health care professionals, you will provide clinically excellent care and ensure that the Trust Values of being Collaborative, Honest, Accountable, Innovative and Respectful are upheld within the Area. Skills in liaising and organising will be essential.

A highly motivated person with good leadership and managerial skills and proven ability to lead a team will be required to fill this position. We require an innovative flexible person with excellent communication skills and significant experience in the speciality. The ability to work autonomously, and as part of the multidisciplinary team, is essential, with the ability to motivate on all levels. .

Evidence of recent academic development, preferably to degree level will be required.
