Umbrella Sexual Health Service

Staff Nurse/Health Advisor- Band 5

Umbrella Sexual Health Services provide a comprehensive sexual health service to people attending our outpatient clinics in different locations across Birmingham and Solihull. The health advisors belong to a small, friendly team and work closely with other disciplines in the department. The Health Advisor team is based in Whittall Street Clinic. Health advisors provide the advice and guidance including psycho-social support, information, risk reduction and health promotion to a wide range of individuals seeking sexual health services. They are strongly encouraged to become involved with service development, clinical audit and undertake projects as necessary.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate a commitment to deliver the highest standard of care in treating/preventing the transmission of sexually transmitted infections.

The candidate will have excellent interpersonal, communication and administration skills.

Training will be provided to further develop/enhance skills within this specialty.

You will be required to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service, which would involve working late shifts, weekends and also to work at satellite services on a rotational basis.
