Clinical Nurse Specialist Stoma care (Training Post)
Band 6 on appointment rising to a band 7 on completion of appropriate training.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Stoma care team at Barts Healthcare Trust. You will primarily be based at Whipps Cross Hospital and Waltham Forest community. This post requires working closely with other stoma care and colorectal clinical nurse specialists within the Trust.

We are looking for a nurse who enjoys caring for patients with a stoma and who now feels ready to develop a career in this specialty. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to these patients in your everyday practice, have a sound knowledge of their needs and be competent in their daily care. We will be able to offer you a comprehensive training under the supervision of experienced specialist nurses who work in a variety of settings with patients who have a stoma for cancer or benign conditions. You will be supported in acquiring a relevant post registration qualification.

This post will rise to a band 7 once your training is complete and you have a post registration qualification in stoma care. You will then join the current specialist stoma nurses working at Whipps Cross Hospital and Waltham Forest community in providing expert care to patients who have a stoma. You will ensure that patients receive the highest standard of clinical care and have access to a fully comprehensive support service. You will also act as a role model and provide support and leadership to other clinical staff who care for people with a stoma and participate in planning initiatives to improve the quality of the service.
