About Mercy University Hospital
Mercy University Hospital (MUH), is a growing voluntary, acute, Irish hospital in the heart of Cork City (Ireland’s second largest city). Founded in 1857 by the Sisters of Mercy, today we treat over 140,000 patients across all services annually. We employ circa 1,550 staff and have an annual operating budget in excess of €150m. The hospital is a registered charity and operates as a not for profit entity. We are a teaching hospital, a centre of national and international excellence, and are renowned for our research and tertiary services.
From Cardiac Care to Intensive Care, our varied specialist services offer real career choice to our team. Our Nursing Specialist areas include General/Specialist Medical & Surgical Services, Critical Care, Stroke Service, Theatre, Oncology, Gastroenterology, Emergency, Inclusion Health and Care of the Older Person.
