We are located in Horsham, in order to apply you must be able to reliably commute to Horsham.
We are looking for a caring, fun and reliable support worker in a private placement supporting our 22 year old autistic non-verbal son in his own private residential setting.
We already have a great team you would be joining who are very supportive and fun.
The position would suit a fun, active, caring and reliable candidate with a good sense of humour who is looking for a fulfilling role where they can really make a difference to a young persons life.
Full training with client provided with extensive shadowing sessions with established support workers before any solo shifts.
We are keen to help with career development in this field, if you are looking to forward your career, and can offer fully funded training such as Positive Behaviour Support training or Registered Behaviour Technician Training with Behaviour Analyst Certificate board accreditation or NVQ's in health and social care.
Full time role
Candidates will need to be fit and healthy and keen to participate and organise fun, appropriate activities and and helping the client participate in community trips, attend specialist provisions and developing self help skills.
Hours can be flexible but average 40 hours per week for full time position. Night time shifts, of which it is normally only one a week are 13 hrs and are paid as waking nights even if you are able to sleep (ie if the client is sleeping which is often the case although not guaranteed of course)
These hours are fully negotiable with the right candidate and there will be some flexibility.
Part–time role
Hours can be as flexible as needed for the part time role as you would be part of our small team.
Responsibilities and Duties
The role will involve supporting around school hours, but also in the daytime if on school holiday's. You will be helping with all aspects of the clients life including taking out for drives, picking up and dropping off at school, self help skills, personal care, encouraging independence and helping client have as much fun and life enrichment as possible.
Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience of working with older kids/adults with autism is required (minimum of 2 years)
UK work experience required , no sponsorship or relocation offered .
Full driving license required
