Job Description
Occupational Therapist
Location: Stowmarket
Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for your next challenge? This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading rehabilitation service as an Occupational Therapist, delivering outstanding care and support to individuals recovering from acquired brain injury (ABI).
About the Role
As a Occupational Therapist, you will:
* Provide specialist assessment and intervention to help clients regain independence, including vocational rehabilitation for returning to work or study.
* Work collaboratively with clients, carers, and families to set client-centered goals and deliver tailored treatment plans.
* Contribute to the development and integration of evidence-based practice, including innovative technologies, into the service.
* Supervise rehabilitation assistants and students while participating in interdisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality therapy using clinical reasoning, experience, and reflective practice.
* Engage with families and carers, providing education and training to maximize client independence.
* Perform risk assessments and home visits as needed.
* Ensure excellent clinical record-keeping and produce detailed reports.
* Participate in the evaluation and introduction of new technology and resources.
* Actively contribute to training sessions for carers, families, employers, and other stakeholders.
* Stay informed on developments in ABI rehabilitation and participate in audit and research activities.
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
* A strong background in occupational therapy, ideally with experience in acquired brain injury rehabilitation.
* Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, families, and external organizations.
* A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
* The ability to supervise and support others, including students and team members.
* Knowledge of relevant legislation such as safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and the Disability Discrimination Act.
