Job Description

The Employee Resilience Company Ltd (TERC) provides both Employee Assistance Provision and full Secondary Mental Health Services.

TERC provides services to NHS, Blue Light Services, and other public and private sector employees across the UK. TERC is a highly regarded and successful provider of mental health services, accredited training, and wellbeing services.

We are looking for a highly motivated Specialist Menopause Nurse with advanced clinical skills, strong communication skills to act as support to our lead nurse practitioner offering unrivalled Menopause support to our clients. You will work on an affiliate basis to help with our growing demand from our clients.

Role Responsibility / Overview:

The Employee Resilience Company Ltd are looking for an enthusiastic person to join their expanding Menopause Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative service, which is seeking to deliver equitable care to the employees.

You will be supported by our lead nurse practitioner, who specialises in menopause, along with our specialist psychological therapists in delivering virtual consultations. The service is supported with full time administration staff.

Our goal is to deliver a model of care to public and private sector clients in relation to menopause care and management.

To work as an expert nurse practicing at an advanced level in the menopause service.

The post holder will work as an expert nurse in all aspects of the menopause speciality.

The post holder will be responsible for seeing all referrals allocated to them in a virtual clinic.

The role will involve a range of duties including:

You will demonstrate advanced levels of clinical judgment through diagnostic reasoning and be an expert in assessment, history talking and clinical decision making in order to make recommendations or a differential diagnosis.

You will be responsible for diagnoses and will be required to inform the patient of their diagnosis, and plan patient management and referral to other services when necessary.

Influence and develop the service to provide high quality, clinically effective patient focused services.

Support the clinical lead for menopause service.

To engage in direct patient contact, working alongside colleagues and deliver independent virtual clinics.

To work as an expert practitioner and, upon referral, provide expert assessment, advice and/or care to the client and GP.

To work in partnership with clients, other professionals, ensuring needs are met through appropriate integrated and co-ordinated programmes of care.

Demonstrates advanced interpersonal skills in caring for menopause patients.

Works directly other clinical health professionals supporting and developing their skills in caring for menopause clients.

Demonstrates expertise in all aspects of clients’ needs.

Demonstrates advanced practice functions including clinical history taking an evidenced based prescribing advice.

Demonstrates advanced clinical decision-making skills in referring clients for further test, investigations, interpreting results and providing recommendations to GP.

Works effectively and collaboratively in setting and monitoring multi professional standards, promoting evidence-based practice and a just and learning culture.

To exercise a high degree of personal professional autonomy, ability to make critical judgements where precedents do not exist, in particular with regard to legal, ethical and moral aspects of care.

Develop and establish clinically effective standards of care, protocols and guidelines to enhance care of individuals who are accessing the service for post-reproductive healthcare.

Utilise all evidence-based practice and experience to enhance the contribution of nursing in caring for menopause clients.

Communications

Communicate complex information about all aspects of women’s health and the menopause and their consequences to clients, ensuring they have a good understanding of the condition and the treatment options, thereby ensuring that clients can be equal partners in care decisions.

Be able to manage complex / sensitive situations using effective communication and negotiation skills.

Discuss complex and sensitive information with clients offering empathy and reassurance.

Develop and maintain good interpersonal relationships with the clinical specialists from The Employee Resilience Company Ltd in partnership to meet the client needs.

Establish and maintain effective team communication mechanisms using a range of methods to ensure that Caldicott Principles are adhered to.

Practice, and role model, excellence in patient advocacy and liaison.

Establish respectful and effective relations and communication networks with internal and external agencies.

Provide both verbal and written reports when required.

Promote excellence in professional/patient care record keeping, at all times.

Ensure own knowledge base is maintained in relation to potential need to access spiritual/multi-cultural faith support for clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

Current Full NMC Registration as an RGN/RMN

Evidence of study at Master’s Level

Course in Menopause Care i.e., BMS Principles and Practice of Menopause Care

Independent Nurse Prescribing V300 Qualification

Expert knowledge of menopause and women’s health

Relevant experience at senior level as an autonomous practitioner in Menopause

Significant experience of working with staff at all levels within the public sector and external partner agencies

Evidence of innovative practice development

Nice to have:

BMS Advanced Certificate in in the Principles and Practice of Menopause Care

The Company fully believes in supporting its staff members and has supported a number of employees through further development courses.

This role is offered on a Zero hours contract and on an affiliate basis.
