Role: Healthcare Assistant - Oncology / Haematology
Town / Site: London / HCA @ UCH,
Full time: Monday - Sunday 37.5 hours per week
Shift times: Long days, nights
Permanent: Yes
Salary: £25.000K - £28.708K plus 9% shift enhancement

We're looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Oncology and Haematology team HCA @ UCH currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC. We are a 43 bedded unit specialising in various haematology and oncology conditions, such as leukaemia, multiple myeloma and sarcoma.

As a Healthcare Assistant your responsibilities will include working under the supervision of the clinical team, to assist with nursing, medical and clerical duties in the provision of direct and indirect patient care and associated general duties ensuring an efficient service at all times.

What you'll bring:
  • Minimum NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
  • Good Clinical Skills in Phlebotomy desirable
  • Previous experience working in Cancer Care desirable
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in English verbally and written
  • Carry out observations, investigations and treatments as required
  • Report any concerns to the nurse in charge
  • Ensure all charges are captured
  • Recognise own limitations and request assistance as necessary
