Sessional (Part Time) Experienced Mental Health Nurse Required

ARC HD Services provides individually tailored residential care for vulnerable young people aged between 9 and 18 experiencing social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Arc provide a step down service to a number of young people leaving secure hospital care.

Our four homes are unique; small and friendly with just 3 residents in each and the dedicated, professional staff team are critical to their success. We are currently looking for an experienced Mental Health Nurse to provide mental health oversight across its children’s homes in Hampshire. The role has become available as our existing Mental Health nurse has relocated.

The Successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Registered Manager and within a staff team guided by a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

The role will involve:

• Meeting young people who join the home and assisting where required in the development of mental health focused care plans

• Liaising with external mental health professionals and CAMHS if required to ensure young people’s mental health needs are prioritised

• Assessing young people who are experiencing a deterioration in their mental health and determining levels of support they require from within the Arc staff team and beyond

• Attending staff meetings and planning meetings to discuss the changing mental health needs of young people

As above, this is a part time role that can be tailored around you. We would ideally like around 16 hours per month but can be flexible around this and there is also the potential for this to increase in the future.

Successful applicants will be happy to complete an enhanced DBS check.
