Job Description
This hospital is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of women and newborns, offering specialist services within maternity, neonatal and women’s health. Within women’s health, they are a leader and an advocate in areas that are often overlooked or stigmatised, such as pregnancy termination, endometriosis, menopause and women’s mental health. About Their Maternity Services:
- Their maternity service is one of Australia’s largest with over 7,600 babies born last year at this hospital. They provide a range of models of care to including team care, Midwives in Small Teams (MIST) and caseload midwifery in our COSMOS program.
- As a tertiary care provider, midwives also have opportunities to work within the Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) unit, providing midwifery assessment, support and birthing care to women who are high risk and experiencing complex psycho-social pregnancies.
About the role:
- Their model of care has a focus on midwives operating at their full scope of practice with an even greater emphasis on midwifery-led care. You will deliver high quality care to patients and families across both low risk and complex cases.

What you can expect:
- Midwife to patient ratios (1-to-1 in Birth Centre; 1 to 4 mothers on Postnatal Wards and 1 to 6 on Night Duty)

What we’re looking for:
- We’re seeking passionate and experienced AHPRA Registered Midwives to join the Women’s across our range of pregnancy care models, including:
- Midwives willing to work across the continuum
- Midwives in small teams program
- One-to-one midwifery caseload program
- Home birth (coming soon)
- Inclusion and belonging
Candidates must have:
- A degree/ diploma in midwifery
- Have AHPRA registration or are eligible for AHPRA registration
- Minimum of 2 years of experience recent acute experience in the above specialty area
- Fluent in English
- Strong clinical skills
