Senior Theatre Practitioner- Scrub, Theatres
Private Care Guys, London
Full time 37.5 hours per week
Monday - Saturday, earlies and lates.

We're looking for a Senior Theatre Practitioner - Scrub to join our Theatre at London Bridge hospital - Private Care Guys currently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC. The theatres across our facilities, provide a vibrant, exciting, and professional environment where the advance equipment and technology is second to none.

Private Care at Guys is part of London Bridge Hospital, it has 10 Operating theatres, and offers a wide range of surgeries from, Cardiac, Ortho, Liver, Neuro, Urology, Spinal and General. Successful candidates will be part of a large theatre team of colleagues, experienced professionals. With 160 beds, 28 ICU beds and 10 operating theatres we offer our patients exceptional treatment across a multitude of acute and complex care and have use of the latest technologies and healthcare innovations.

Reporting to the Theatre Manager, you will lead a team of scrub practitioners working closely with anaesthetic and recovery colleagues. You will have a strong knowledge and experience in operating theatres with an excellent understanding of the perioperative needs of patients, and a wide knowledge of peri-operative nursing practices and procedures. You must be organised, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with experience of supervising a multi-disciplinary team providing the highest standard of patient care across a varied caseload.

What you'll bring:
  • Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Scrub nurse with post qualification scrub experience in a range of surgical specialties. Experience in Robotics would be advantageous.
  • Scrub & circulating skills, with experience of applying clinical reasoning skills across a varied patient case mix.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in sensitive and challenging situations.
  • Highly motivated individual who has a friendly disposition, and the ability to work as part of a team.
