Job Description
Job Summary:
A Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner is a trained mental health professional who assists individuals experiencing common mental health issues through the delivery of evidence-based psychological interventions. They work as part of a broader mental health team and play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and support of clients seeking help for their mental health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment and Screening: Conduct initial assessments and screenings to determine the nature and severity of clients' mental health issues, using standardized assessment tools and clinical judgment.
Evidence-Based Interventions: Deliver low-intensity psychological interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and behavioral activation, following established treatment protocols and guidelines.
Treatment Planning: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans based on identified needs and goals. Set achievable targets and regularly review progress.
Psychoeducation: Provide clients with psychoeducation about common mental health conditions, explaining the nature of their difficulties, and teaching coping strategies and self-help techniques.
Risk Assessment: Assess and manage risk, including self-harm or harm to others, and implement appropriate safety measures when necessary.
Monitoring Progress: Continuously monitor clients' progress through regular reviews and outcome measures. Adjust treatment plans as needed to ensure effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting assessments, interventions, progress, and outcomes in compliance with legal and professional standards.
Crisis Support: Offer immediate support to clients in crisis situations, including suicide risk assessments, and liaise with emergency services or crisis teams as required.
Collaboration: Collaborate with other mental health professionals, such as clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers, to ensure coordinated care and referrals when appropriate.
Self-Care Promotion: Encourage clients to engage in self-help resources and promote self-care strategies to enhance resilience and well-being.
Data Collection and Reporting: Collect and analyze data on service outcomes and participate in service evaluations and audits to contribute to service improvement.
Case Load Management: Manage a caseload of clients while ensuring that appointments are scheduled and delivered in a timely manner.

Empathy and Communication: Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and empathetic communication, to build trust and rapport with clients.
