Person specification
Knowledge/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc/1st degree (health related) or equivalent qualification/training and experience
- Registration with Health Care Professions Council as an Occupational Therapist
Desirable criteria
- Specialist qualification in a relevant area e.g. addictions / mental health
- To have or be currently working towards a Masters degree
Experience
Essential criteria
- Direct experience with homeless clients or clients with addictions
- Experience of independent / autonomous practice
- Experience of undertaking holistic health assessments and assessing mental health needs and social care needs as well as physical care health needs
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in partnership with voluntary / statutory agencies
- Experienced in both mental health and physical health care service delivery
- Experience of working directly with Refugees / Asylum Seekers
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to work unsupervised and use own initiative
- Able to conduct functional assessments for patients with complex needs, including traumatic brain injuries
- Able to engage, communicate with and empower marginalised clients
Desirable criteria
- Able to of influence and negotiate independently across complex boundaries
- Able to deliver teaching sessions to large groups
