Job Description

This post is subject to a satisfactory DBS clearance and as a result, you will be required to pay the associated fee of £38.00. This fee will be deducted from your second month's salary.
The closing date is 6 July 2022.

Person specification

Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • • State Registration • Degree in Physiotherapy (or Diploma equivalent) • Evidence of relevant post-graduate courses / post graduate Qualification and CPD • Ability to work to standard of MSc
Desirable criteria
  • • Relevant validated clinical courses • Involvement in special interest groups i.e. • ACPIN, ICS, ESICM, ACPRC • Experience at Extended Scope practitioner level • MSc level of qualification
Experience
Essential criteria
  • • Significant postgraduate experience, including in Critical Care and general Inpatients • Experience at Band 7 level • Contributing to clinical education of less experienced staff or students or assistants
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience of negotiating with / working alongside MDT / Consultants • Audit / evaluation experience
Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • • Advanced knowledge of Physiotherapy, including Intensive Care, Neurological Physiotherapy, Respiratory Physiotherapy including tracheostomy management and weaning, ventilation weaning and troubleshooting • Critical Appraisal • Evidence of participation in research / audit
Skills
Essential criteria
  • • Able to demonstrate empathy, motivate and persuade patients with impaired cognitive abilities or physical senses. • Clear, concise verbal communication. • Ability to write concise clear reports and notes. • Ability to negotiate compromises and resolve conflict. • Able to work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team • Able to work well with others and pass on skills and knowledge • Able to maintain judgement under pressure • Motivation/ Drive/ Enthusiasm • Confident • Supervisory skills • Forward Thinking • Excellent Inter-personal Skills • Self-directed learning • Ability to work independently • Ability to pass on skills/ knowledge to others within both formal and informal environments
