Knowledge
Essential criteria
  • Appropriate post registration experience in Rheumatology
  • Appropriate proven leadership and management experience
  • Proven commitment and experience and evidence in teaching
  • Experience as preceptor / mentor


Desirable criteria
  • Experience of undertaking research or audit projects
  • Empathy for patients with long term conditions in supporting self-management
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to problem solve


Skills
Essential criteria
  • Organisation and management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of a changing service
  • Ability to work alone or as part of the team
  • Innovate and participate with practice and policy change
  • Awareness of current national changes in nursing/NHS


Qualifications
Essential criteria
  • Current NMC registration
  • RGN
  • Degree in nursing health or related subject
  • Relevant accredited post registration qualification at level 3
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing
  • Willingness to work towards Masters level academic study

Essential criteria
  • Flexibility to see what is needed in whole service, prioritise work and support the delivery of the service (not just focus on their own workload)
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure
