Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Current professional registration with appropriate body in healthcare or social work
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
- Depending on work area, recognised sign-off mentor (or equivalent) or must be achieved within agreed timescale.
- Key skills in literacy, numeracy and ITQ level 2 (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- Recognised qualification in a specific model of therapy e.g. family therapy, CBT etc.
- Recognised training in Facilitation of Parenting Groups.
- CAMHS Degree
Skills
Essential criteria
- Provide effective clincial supervision, teaching, training and assessing in clinical practice
- Work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and undertake lead professional / care co-ordinator responsibilities
- Communicate complex and sensitive information effectively to children and young people, carers/families and all members of the multidisciplinary team
- Provide leadership and monitor, co-ordinate and prioritise the activities of a team.
- Write reports.
- Use multimedia materials for presentations in professional settings.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working collaboratively with service users and their families/carers
- Quality improvement activities
- Working in a multi-disciplinary team
- Providing clinical supervision.
Desirable criteria
- Leadership or management experience
- Significant experience working with children and young people with mental ill health in a community setting
- Mentoring students on practice placement experiences
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Demonstrable knowledge to post-graduate level of evidence-based practice in caring for children and young people in the designated field.
- Understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act).
- Care Programme Approach and its application in practice.
- Detailed understanding of Safeguarding and its application in practice.
- Clinical Risk Assessment and Management and its application in practice.
- Clinical Governance and its application in practice.
- Research and development methodology.
- Understanding of psychological models of care and treatment.
Desirable criteria
- The Trust's Quality Improvement System (QIS)
