Job Description
You will be involved with psychological input in all aspects of patient care, including assessments, formulations and interventions (individual and group). An ability to work creatively and flexibly with hard-to-engage service users will be an essential aspect of the job. Your work will be trauma informed, and might include the use of models such as CBT, CAT, Schema, Compassion Focussed Therapy, or other evidence-based approaches.
The role will also involve advising staff, facilitating reflective practice, work with carers, and collaboration and consultation with other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Youwill also be required toprovide supervision to an assistant psychologist and other team members.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1.1 To maintain adequate electronic/paper records of clinical activities.
1.2 To furnish appropriate statistical returns as required.
1.3 To provide such information as is required for the purpose of auditing the professional service.
1.4 To maintain adequate correspondence with other professionals regarding clinical work.
2.1 To provide comprehensive psychological assessments and psycho-social formulations of people with severe and complex mental health problems so as to inform multi-disciplinary management of each service-user.
2.2 To provide appropriate structured psychological interventions to people with severe and/or very complex mental health problems (and their families)
2.3 To harness and support the psychological skills of colleagues in the team by providing supervision, opportunities for co-working, and active participation.
2.4 To develop and maintain appropriate frameworks for the provision of supervision and consultancy so as to support the psychological work of colleagues within the team.
2.5 To provide advice on psychological aspects of risk assessment and positive risk-taking.
2.6 To facilitate reflective practice groups for staff colleagues.
2.7 To develop psychological formulations of complex mental health problems so as to aid the team's input and management of these difficulties.
2.8 To participate in, and actively contribute to, the stepped-care provision of psychology services within the unit.
2.9 To promote team working and constructive relationships with other members of the ward team.
2.10 To act in the role of named supervisor for clinical psychology trainees
2.11 To provide training sessions for ward staff around relevant psychological skills
2.12 To provide the above psychological services into other GMMH rehabilitation units were required
